Note from Claire, Founder: Just one month after the launch of our breastfeeding clothing label we were contacted by The Sun in the U.K.! They wanted to write a story about our new label and how it will help mothers feel comfortable breastfeeding in public.
She said: “I was surprised by the lack of choice for breastfeeding clothing generally but particularly by the limited options for young mothers like me who enjoy fashion. “I was inspired by my own experience and the difficulty I faced finding stylish clothing options that I could also feed in.”
The Queensland, Australia mum has now designed a range for new mums, with all the clothing designed with zips to allow mums to have easy access. She said: “I am passionate about enabling mothers to feed openly in public without feeling the need to cover-up or be out of sight.”
“(I) believe all mothers should feel comfortable and confident to feed their babies whenever and wherever they need to.”
She added: “I wanted to create a fashion label that allowed breastfeeding mothers to wear stylish clothes that reflected the latest fashion trends but that were comfortable and provided easy access to feed.”
The entrepreneur of Stylefeed said she herself had been eager to start wearing clothes that made her feel good after having her first son. She said: "After months of wearing functional maternity clothes, I wanted to enjoy fashion again – particularly as I was just starting to get my figure back."
But while she said there were maternity wear options, the young mum said she was surprised by the lack of choice for breastfeeding clothing. The new designs come after numerous new mums have shared stories about their treatment when breastfeeding in public.
